Anyway –smiles as I test the boards on the dock to check that they will hold My weight as I moved and pulled off My fur. Standing at 7’2 and 340lbs, a Y visor on My head and in the left hand a 32inch shield, Round wooden Torvaldian, boss centre and held loose at My side so the rim looks at You and the boss looks to My left, in the right hand was a 32 inch long sword, the hilt held at the hip and the blade coming up to 45 angle to point towards You, I could see you in the full light at just 8 paces as I got ready to react and move-

As I see You still in get ready mode I walk in as I lift My shield face to come and cover My front left side from My chin down and mid chest out…walking an easy pace as I get to 3 paces and cock back My longsword as I look like I am about to cut down at Your right side, giving a glance in that direction, as I closed and make account for any move that you make in the possible circle effect, I stepped in one more and then very quickly if I am at 2 paces I shunt over to Your left and pull My shield with Me to cover more of My front as I get on Your left side, I shunted forward to get in close and hope that My shield rim on the left side (My pov) is past the outside edge of Yours, I drag My shield to My left to pull Your shield out and move You to My left as I
twisted hard on the ball of My left leading foot and in the turn I cut My right blade down from My shoulder to try and hack down the gap that would be made by My shield, I was aiming to cut My blade down in front of the face of My shield and behind Yours, going for the mid section of My blade to hack down on Your left elbow joint in hopes of the strap of Your shield stopping You from moving too quickly for a defence
Closing to the right to 3 feet, shield hook

~..I certainly wasn't about to let your shield hook catch much of anything at all and as you tried to get to my left side I simply pivoted on my right foot opening my stance sliding left foot back which quite natually did two things..it moved my shield which was already on my front left side with my body as I moved thereby hopefully keeping your shield hook from working while also putting my sheild face in perfect position to catch your incoming blade..~
~..with your shield possibly out of position as it passed by my own to my right my blade was already moving into an upwards clockwise arc..your blade was coming at something of a downward angle and I figured you'd have a hard time reversing your shields movment as well as your sword arms downward movement which was why my strike with my right held gladius was for your sword arm just below the elbow looking to slice into it and disable you

I did not even try to stop My moves as I guessed You may well just move out the way and let My left shield move in the natural fluid stroke that it started, being off to My left, all I did was drop the left shield arm and open that up like a door so that My shield face would open and cover over that side in the miss, I would not have cut down if I had missed but this the spar life and so I felt Your sword clank on My shield face as My own sword was stopped by My shield on the top rim, as was cutting down in front of My shield in the first move, this now put Your sword on the outside of My left shield and I let the flow keep going to push Your smaller sword off to My left side and leave My blade up on the top of My shield like a letter T, with this I hope to be sort of square as You twisted and
Cut My right arm back to My right and push My right hand out towards You, I was going for the pommel of My sword to get on the inside edge (My left POV) of Your shield to try and now hook Your shield with that and snap My right wrist away from Me to send the lower edge of My blade for the right side of Your neck, If I got the hook and snap My wrist I make a half step back to try and draw the blade over Your neck to slice as well as hack

*counter-attack~..I didn't waste a millisecond the absolute instant my blade ended up on your left side with you pushing it out I dropped like a rock straight to the ground..your blade was blocked by your own shield and you would not even be able to see where my blade was going but should probably be getting nervous as hell about the lower region of your body, the drop down aiding me as I drag my blade straight down from your shield face and slice it from my right to left extending the blade out as I do thinking my gladius had already been on the lower area of your shield face from my ascending strike and hopefully my blade being the faster weapon would be able to dip and get below your shield face faster than you could react intending to have my blade slice into the inside of your right knee..I was barely even aware honestly of your sword as it sliced into air up high with your blade hopefully now to my left..~
This works alright, though I would have liked to see a nsurance of bringing the shield up so you could slice under it without it being an obstacle, and thus creating protection as well.....but this works as the timing is spot on

As soon as I hit Your sword You dropped and that changed it all, I was in a defence mode and forgot about the shield hook move as there was no point anymore and I lunge back, throwing My feet back so that I would come down chest first on the dock, putting My right elbow out in the drop to take some of the blow as My shield comes with me in the open door move I made in the parry, slamming into the dock as Your sword was coming up and now coming down I assume You had to feel the block and change direction of Your right shoulder muscle and hope that drop and muscle change was enough to keep You on the outside of My shield
being prone was not a happy place and I shoved My knees under My chest and pushed down on My shield to aide lifting Me up and back as I held My blade out in front in case of an advance while I got up and back about a pace, My shield pulled up last and tucked back over My left side as I come to My feet now at 3 paces as I am a tall Bastard.
I love the move, but I cant see you doing it faster than He swings that pigsticker....I can see you getting back to avoid any disablement, but I see you taking a cut to the front of the lower right thigh as you drop -1

suddenly a little confused on just how far you are from me, but no matter I wasted not even a second quickly stepping to my right closing distance to your front left side pushing my left held shield across my chest to my right letting my gladius come back to my right hip in the same motion getting within sword range before..~
~..snapping it out to my right and shoulder height and then back to my left starting off in a horizontal line like I was going to try to chop your head off in the right to left movment (mpov) of my blade before swiftly letting the blade drop diagnolly straight down and to my left off it's horizontal plane intending to bury it in your left knee or possibly catch your left calf on the deflection from the angle of the blades decent..~
Closing to the right.....in a waddle of sorts I would imagine. You never rose up from hitting the ground -1
This would work

I was already doing a back peddle as you came in past My sword and all I did was take My leading left leg back and drop it to the ground by the knee as I closed my shield down over My thigh and let the bottom rim hit the dock again to catch Your blade on the front of My shield as I had been in the process of a reposition in the last. It was a bit of a gap that I had made as I was in close but the length of a 7’2 man prone and then knee lifting back would be about 1 pace of Joe (4 feet) and the half back step another 2, so a total of 6 feet in the move from 1 pace away start (3 feet) giving a total of 9 feet or 3 standard Gorean paces. Hope that helps. I look up and had My sword out still and ready for Your open left knee but I smiled and pulled up from My knee and tap My blade off My helmet in a salute- Nice play Cal, very nice indeed
