Caliodorus to Judge
(17:44:28)
Joe
Standing at an even 7’2” and 340lbs as I enter the clearing, I have a Y visor helm on My head with the strap done, My right hand has a long sword double edged, with a 32” blade and cross guard over the hilt, held out to My right side so the tip looks at the sands 45 degrees from My right leg…My left arm has a Torv round shield of 36” with a boss and metal banding, held with the strap on the forearm and pulled around so that the boss is looking at You, upper rim under My chin level and about a foot away from Me…My left foot leading on at shoulder width and right trailed back with the toes of the right foot pointing out, knees slightly bent and ready to fight at 5 paces from you.
7'2, 240lbs
y-slotted helm
right hand: 32 inch long
left arm/hand: 36 inch shield
15 feet

*I draw My medium blade slowly from the scabbard at My left hip. Thumbing the knot on the handaxe at My right hip, I release the hand-axe and bring it to bear in My left hand. I step forward slightly, left foot leading, My left arm crooked so that the axe is held in a high-guard position. My right side twisted back slightly, the blade parallel to the ground and pointed forward.* My camp...You have the honor of first strike
left hand: hand axe, we'll say 18 inches long, single blade of four inches.
right hand: medium blade. *ponders* we'll go with a typical gorean doubled edged sword, 30 inches would be short for a long and long for a short so I guess that's medium.
left side lead @ 5 paces

Joe 1
As You had not moved and keep the 5 paces I nod and walk in slow coming towards Your right side slightly as I brought My right blade up over My right shoulder so the mid section of blade was resting on the shoulder ready to strike…
as I got to 2 paces I started to bring My sword down, looking like it was coming for your right shoulder but then as I made a half step onto My left foot lead I sprang to My right and tucked My right elbow in sharp to My side to pull My falling blade over towards My right and hope to clear around Your left side before You can work out what is going on and pressed My right arm back out to My right and snapped the right wrist to send the blade tip back over to My left and should be past Your axe haft edge as I shove the blade forward and try and drive the blade in Your left side rib level behind Your left elbow but not that deep, just to nick You some, keeping My own shield tucked in with the left side (My pov) pointed back to cover My flank
Clean
Clean, but my opinion is that you left yourself a little open here, but lets see what he does with it.

*As you bring the blade in an overhead swing down at My right shoulder, I take two steps back, My desire to see your blade bury itself in the ground and expose yourself during recovery, fortunately, My simple defensive movement saves Me from the feint you had executed as the blade passes by in front of Me. Your cross-body attack with the shield carries You forward to Me though and I feel the sharp blade-tip gash through My leathers on My left side. Pivoting to My right, I attempt to roll along the front of Your shield and bring My left arm back and down in a sweeping strike, to hopefully catch the exposed part of your lower back or upper backside of your hip with the small edge of My hand-axe.*
-1, try to remember to seperate your posts(generally speaking, every post should be two parts, counter(usually defense or body movment) and reaction (attacks usually). See how Joe has his defense and offense seperated?..and remember the distance involved. He was executing all that from about five feet away imo which is just on the inside of his range, so your defense is perfect, two steps back considering the timing puts you at approximatly 7 feet and his blade wouldn't do much more nick you if that.
-1..distance..he's a long way away from you, in Prodigy, there are no specific number of actions you can take..so it's ok for you to close and also attack in the same reaction. I'm just going to stop thinking about distance at all, your 7 feet away so your basically spinning in air and hacking at not much.

I was huge, in all aspects and as You began Your roll on My shield face You found Your small arse being shunted with a great force to send You forward and I hope off balance as I then lean back after the shunt to keep a gap and retain My shield in the defence posture to take any blade tip that may still come in from the wild swing. It was now that I pressed on and came back at You, sweeping My shield to My left some to catch Your right blade and parry it off with My shield edge to make a gap on Your right side, but again this was a fient
as I sweep My right blade upward from cutting You to try and slice the tip up over the outside of Your left axe arm at the tricep level to secure that side for later attacks as I hope to have My blade resting over My right shoulder in the conclusion of the move.
See, Joe defended and then closed the distance again to get back within range. Joe, this might be just a pet peeve of mine that noone else cares about, but if your opponent can react to it..then it should be in your reaction. The shield feint is perfect and fine, but should be in your reaction since it's a set up for an attack and not a defense. -1

*As I rolled along Your shield, Your outward thrust with it sent Me reeling away from You. I pivoted two steps away from You, bringing My stumble to a halt and bringing Myself around to face You once more. My right blade, I lowered as I put My left foot forward, leading with the small axe to work at Your guard. As You came forward sweeping Your shield to Your left, I stepped forward into the opening as Your shield pushed My medium blade down and to My right. As I continue to step in, I feel Your blade scrape along the back of My leathers.
hmmmm....-1 for the invalid defense and instead of your left tricep, he just slicing you pretty good along your left side ribs towards your back. This wasn't a bad post man, you are now inside his shield with your axe in perfect position for a lethal blow to his wide open chest area...the only problem is that you didn't attack him anywhere that I could see or truly defend his blow in any adequate way. -1 on the coutner/reaction being all put together thing. I know that might seem anal retentive, but it makes a difference in how judges read things if we think it's a counter strike or what not.

+Counter Strike+ You had moved in and that showed balls, not many men came in at Joe MacBain that was for sure, but You had got that left axe inside My sword arm and I looked at You and did not wait a second as I notice You have no helm on and as You step in I thrust My head forward and down with a spitting snarl to try and crack My metal encased head on Your raw skull and just knock You right there and send You to the ground and end the match.
Clean CA, and considering his axe placement..a might fine idea

*As You bring Your head down, to smash it against My own You must stoop (You are 7’2” and I am after all a much shorter 5’11”), My left elbow was already driving up towards Your throat and I could do little to prevent it from smashing into the lowering helm. Pain shot through My left elbow as it was driven down, but My skull was saved as I bent My right knee, the one furthest from your center, and crouched down. My right arm bringing My blade in a sweeping low-stroke back at your left leg, hoping to catch You off-balance with Your most recent attack.*
-1, next time..declare your height in your opening stance. Your right, he's tall but the only reason you knew that is because he shared it. height and weight are not mandatory for an opening stance. And this post was much better for sure, you defended and attacked and it flowed together very well, just have to work on the seperation thing. In a Prodigy fight, when the point bank reaches 5, the fight can be declared as over at the judges discreation and I am going to declare it over here.

It was more of a neck move than a stoop and I watched You drop to Your knees and I had Your sword on the outside of My shield in the last move as I now lean at My waist as You drop to lean over and thrust My shield down at the same time to dig the lower rim in the dirt and keep Your sword on the outside, the size of My shield being 36inchs as I aim for the boss to be in line with My ankle I assume the back edge would prevent a reach around effect from the elbow and wrist of Your right hand
all I did now, while I hope You are still dazed in pain is lean back up and take a step back as I rip My shield up with Me to try and get the rim to come up under Your fallen frame and catch You on the chin and knock You out
(18:30:30 )
Tak
*+Counter-Strike+ As you lean down, driving the shield down to pin the blade in My right hand, I release it quickly. Reaching up to grab at the front of Your tunic, I hope to surprise You and use Your weight and forward lean against You, as I attempt to fall backwards and bring You with Me and send You over.*

It works and 340lbs of Torvaldian comes down on You as I look at You and as I go

I pull My right sword over across My chest so that I hope to on top of You like a prom date, but with a long sword blade now held across Your throat
(18:36:09 )
Tak
*As You fall atop Me, Your blade pressed to My throat, I tap at the back of your neck with the small axe still in My left hand...the pain of My elbow still present, but overridden by adrenaline for now.*

Joe
I lean My head back so that the axe taps on the metal and looks at You with a wink and draws My blade off as I stand and sheath the sword, holding out My arm- Now….well met
Injuries:

Tak, you were looking better and better as the fight went on. Yes, I was a little hard on you, but I only think it's to your benefit. Get a few more under your belt and your ability to visualize will start to command the flow of the fight against some fighters and will only get stronger as time goes on. Joe, just that one blip from my perspective, nice fight.
